Artworks, engraves and paper objects conservation

Drawings, engravings, historical and Modern prints, paintings on paper, slides, maps, posters, oriental artworks.

When engaging with a work of art, it is important to consider the artist’s intention and the meaning of what he tried to communicate through the use of various techniques in his time. During the restoration process, investigations into the pigments and materials used to create the work allows us to identify the best conservation approaches based on principles of non-interference with the original and respect for authenticity.

The great variety of artistic techniques used in the realisation of the works requires a careful study of the conservation issues associated with them. Conservation methods play an important role, which is why we assess the spaces in which the works will be stored after conservation process and design systems that ensure their proper preservation and use over time.

Preserving and enhancing. We work on the work while respecting its authenticity, ensuring its proper preservation and use over time.

The types of graphic works on paper include drawings, engravings, paintings, maps, lucids, posters and oriental works. Each of these has specific conservation needs related to the nature of the materials, which are subject to different types of degradation, and their use.
